Donating a device to the Digital Inclusion Project doubles its lifespan and gives someone in need access to essential technology.

Access to the digital world makes a huge difference to all of us. Affordable tech greatly reduces the limitations our clients face in regards to education and employment, keeps them connected to their communities, and allows them to enjoy a new world of possibilities.

Common questions about donations

  • The Digital Inclusion Project is intended to be responsive to emerging community needs, and we hope to support individuals who are excluded from the digital economy and are negatively impacted by the Digital Divide. Such participants include but are not limited to those who are low-income, seniors, unemployed, homeless or marginally housed, and English language learners. The donated devices are allocated to clients according to their individual needs and urgency.

  • Repurposing devices helps to reduce e-waste in landfills, preserve natural resources, and conserve more energy than recycling devices prematurely. Our devices will eventually be recycled, but we want to delay its trip there by giving them out to the community first.

  • We accept working cell phones, tablets, laptops, and desktop computers.

  • We ensure that all personal information stored on a donated device is removed before the device is repurposed.

To find out how to delete your data prior to donating a device, please read our guides for Apple and Google devices below.

If you are unable to reset your device at home, please come to our Digital Inclusion Hub and we will happily guide you through the process.
