Donating Apple Devices

Apple devices can be a little bit more tricky than other devices for us to refurbish. We are unable to use Apple devices that are locked (either through the passcode or through iCloud) and thus require that the original owner sign out of their account before resetting their device to factory settings.

Please note that you must know your iCloud password to log out.

To sign out of iCloud on an iPhone or iPad:

  1. Tap the Settings app on the Home screen.

  2. Choose your name at the top of the Settings page.

  3. Scroll down and select Sign Out

  4. Finally, select Sign Out of iCloud

  5. Turn on the data that you want to keep a copy of on your device. Depending on the size of your files, this may take a few minutes. Otherwise, tap Sign Out. Tap Sign Out again to confirm that you want to sign out of iCloud.

To sign out of iCloud on Mac:

  1. Click the Apple logo at the top left of your Mac.

  2. Choose System Preferences.

  3. Select Apple ID at the top right.

  4. Click Overview on the left.

  5. Choose Sign Out

  6. Check the boxes next to the items you wish to keep on your Mac, then click Keep a Copy.

  7. If you want to keep a copy of your Safari passwords on your Mac, click Keep on This Mac.

To sign out of iCloud through a web browser:

To log out of every browser (regardless of device) where you might have logged into iCloud, follow these steps:
